Joseph J. Farris

BATH - Joseph J. Farris, 65, of 7279 East Washington St. Ext., formerly of Hammondsport passed away Saturday, March 17 at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 28, 1941 i n Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph and Jule Toma Farris. Joe was the former owner of Harbor Lights Marina and the Lakeside Restuarant in Pulteney from 1972-1986, and worked for the Corning Community College Small Business Development Center in Corning, and from 1986 to the present, he owned and operated the Micro Support Company. He was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing with his best friend Art Sable. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.

He was also a member of St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Hammondsport.

Surviving are his wife Lucille SanAngelo Farris; daughters, Denise (David) Horan, of Clifton Park, Pamela (Thomas) Aini of Hornell and Michele (Alan) Wendlandt of Corning; grandchildren Natalie and Nicole Wendlandt, Kate Horan and Michael and Marie Aini; sister Dianne (Norman) Luck of Maine and several nieces and nephews.

Friends called at the family house, 7279 E. Washington St. Ext. in Bath on Sunday, March 18 and Monday, March 19.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriels Catholic Church in Hammondsport.

The family provided their own flowers, memorials should be made to the Strong Center for Development Disabilities Attn: Austism Efforts, Pediatric Dept., P.O. Box 671 Rochester, N.Y. 14642. After the Mass, everyone was invited to the church hall for a luncheon. Arrangements are by the LaMarche Funeral Home in Hammondsport.
