Smallmouth bass a great gamefish
      Smallmouth bass are one of New York State's most important gamefish. They are famous for their fighting ability when hooked and have the reputation for being, inch-forinch, the best sporting fish around. Smallmouths are probably the most cold water adapted species of sunfish.

Deja vu
      James Perry of Hammondsport pulled this 6 pound pickerel from Keuka Lake while ice fishing for perch on Feb. 27. Almost exactly four years earlier, he caugh a 15.5 pound northern pike while ice fishing for perch. It was "deja vu all over again."
