Bath trustees approve $3.7 million budget

      BATH - It took a minute Thursday for Bath village board members to pass unanimously a $3.7 million budget that will increase the village tax rate by six percent, from $17.96 per $1,000 of assessed value to $19.04 per $1,000.

Dormann sponsors poetry contest
      The Friends of the Dormann Library is sponsoring a poetry writing contest for high school students writing the best original poems. Students will be judged in grade levels 9, 10, 11 and 12. Entries are available at the Dormann Library and from David Fiedler at the Haverling High School.

Haverling district budget up 2 percent

      BATH - Haverling school officials continue work on a 2007-08 spending plan that will increase appropriations by 2.1 percent and carry a likely tax increase of 4.9 percent. Roger Parulski, business manager for the school district, said Thursday he anticipates a tax rate of about $17.
