The blotter

Criminal sale

Bath village police last week arrested George W. Edwards, 42, of 10 W. Washington St., Bath, on charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in Steuben County Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or a $20,000 property bond.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Steuben County District Attorney's Drug Initiative program.

Official misconduct

Sean M. Walruth, 23, of Rumsey Street, Bath, was charged last week with official misconduct, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly using his position as a Steuben County 911 dispatcher to have criminal charges dropped for a third party.

Sheriff's deputies allege Walruth acted as an agent for a law enforcement agency without authorization and asked a complainant not to prosecute the third party.

He was issued an appearance ticket for a later date in Bath town court.

Walruth is no longer employed at the 911 Center.

Reckless driving

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged Christopher M. Nardone, 27, of Bath with reckless driving, littering and unlawful possession of marijuana after receiving a complaint Nardone was driving erratically and allegedly throwing items from his vehicle.

Nardone is to appear in Urbana town court at a later date.
