Arlene Dye Miller

AVOCA - Arlene Dye Miller, of Avoca, entered into heavenly rest on Saturday morning, March 31, at the Taylor Health Care Center in Bath.

She was born the daughter of the late Eugene and Sadie Worth Dye of Loon Lake in Cohocton and was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Miller in 1986.

Arlene was a member of the Avoca United Methodist Church and belonged to the Red Hat Society and enjoyed many luncheons with her dear friends of the club. For many years, before her retirement, she was employed by Eastman Kodak in Rochester.

She is survived by her "adopted family" Sonny and Shirley Obrochta of Avoca; their children, Scott, Lorrie, and Kylie Obrochta, all of Avoca; Doug, Jill, Trevor and Ariana Obrochta of Cohocton, Eric and Vanessa Obrochta of Howard and Elizabeth Obrochta of Avoca. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, including Betsy Farley of Hornell and newly found niece and nephew, Nancy and Hank Rieb of California; also many dear friends, Jean Skillman and Doris Kromer, both of Avoca; and many more too numerous to mention.

At Arlene's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Loon Lake, will be at the convenience of her caretaker, Shirley Obrochta.

Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca. Online condolences or remembrances of Arlene are welcomed at www.bishopandjohnsonfuner alhome.com

"If I have not proven myself in the way I lived my life, by now it just can't be done. I did all I could for all who knew me. For all who helped me in my times when I needed help I am forever grateful and I carry with me today that gratitude. And finally, to you, Shirley and your family, there are no words to put on paper what you meant to me, I loved you dearly."
