Embryos are alive at conception

To the Editor,

The other morning I saw the governor on TV asking for funding for stem cell research. At the same time it showed a pulsating embryo. That embro was very much alive and to destroy it would be murder as is abortion at any stage. A fetus is alive from the moment of conception, it is growing. Innanimate objects do not grow.

The governer says our best scientists will leave New York. Good. Then maybe we will have a better conscience.

I am amazed at this nation's attitude toward abortion, even funding it. Aba MacBride Bath
