Bath girls place 28th in NYS Public High School Athletic Association

This year's Haverling girl's varsity basketball team placed 28th out of 768 team members of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association in team average for all of New York.

The team's GPA during their season (average of the 2nd marking period and 3rd marking period) was a 95.513. The first place team's average was a 97.704. The Lady Rams' average was the 3rd highest in Section V. Section V represents the largest section in NYS state with 121 member schools.

All member schools and individual sports in NYS can qualify for the award by earning a 90% or higher average during their specific sport season.

"The winter season is a long season with a lot of late nights and is the only season that has to use an average of two marking periods in the GPA calculation. I think that says a lot about the team members and the value that they place on academics," said Head Coach, Randy Abrams.

The varsity team members this year include: Leah Fuerst, Elisabeth Hall, Brooke Hammond, Stephanie Jones, Lakeshia McCloud, Nikki Murat, Rachel Oest, Morgan Ostrander, Amber Price, Rebecca Schied, and Casey Smith.
