Bath's Bill Kastner to join Steuben County Hall of Fame Saturday

BATH - Induction ceremonies for new members of the Steuben County Hall of Fame will be held April 28 at the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Bath, beginning with a reception from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Inductees include William Kastner of Bath, who recently was inducted into the New York Senate's Veterans' Hall of Fame.
Kastner and his wife, Bonnie, are the parents of three daughters, Janice, Betty and Tuesday.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Kastner was awarded the Purple Heart during the Vietnam Conflict, along with 10 other medals.
He was recognized by the USAF as the founder of the Military Police Museum at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, and since his retirement from the service, he has served as director of the Steuben County Veterans' Service Agency.
Kastner has been recognized for his service on behalf of Steuben County and New York state veterans. He has served as commander of the Steuben County American Legion and the Bath American Legion; he also is responsible for the expansion of the Bath National Cemetery.
Other inductees Saturday include the late Louise K. Maloney, formerly of Corning, Alan Cocchetto of Arkport, Russell Tuttle of Hornell and Thomas Dimitroff of Corning.
