Controlled substance

Village police last week arrested Calvin Feagins, 59, of 422 5th St. Niagara Falls on a charge of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Feagins allegedly possessed a quantity of crack cocaine while in the Village of Bath on April 4. He was remanded to the county jail on no bail and is to appear in village court at a later date.

Criminal contempt

Village police last week arrested Robert G. Mapes, 45, of 103 East Steuben St., Apt. 202, in Bath on two counts of second degree criminal contempt and two counts of first degree criminal contempt after allegedly violating an order of protection issued from Steuben County Family court.

Maples was remanded to the county jail without bail and is to appear in village court at a later date.

Assault

Bath village police last week arrested Brian T. Grant, 36, of 1 Haverling St., Bath on two charges of third degree assault, and additional charges of second degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Grant allegedly assaulted his wife on April 13 and 15. He was remanded to the Steuben County Jail on a $1,500 bail and is to reappear in village court at a later date to face the misdemeanor charges. Unlawfully dealing with child

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged Gregory S. Dickson, 36, of Bath with unlawfully dealing with a child.

Dickson allegedly bought POLICE alcohol in the Town of Bath for a 14-yer-old youth who later drank the alcohol with another minor. The second youth was subsequently transported to Corning Hospital suffering from alcohol poisoning.

Dickson is to appear at a later date in Bath town court to answer the charge.

Crash

Bath village police last week filed numerous charges against a Kanona man after he crashed into Pulteney Park after driving down Liberty Street at a high rate of speed Monday night.

Brett Perigo, 29, allegedly was inhaling a toxic vapor while driving through the village. Police say he passed several cars and hit a vehicle turning onto Liberty Street from East Steuben Street. Perigo then drove into Pulteney Park and hit two trees before coming to a stop.

He and a passenger, identified as Joel Orfanides, 22, of 209 W. Morris St., Bath, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Arnot Ogden and Corning hospitals for treatment.

Perigo was charged with seventh degree possession of a controlled substance, driving with ability impaired by drugs, reckless driving, first degree reckless endangerment, inhalation of toxic vapors, speed not reasonable and failure to keep right.

Orfanides was charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Both men were arraigned in village court and released to a third party after posting $2,500 in bail.

Vil lage police were assisted at the accident scene by Steuben County Sheriff's deputies, the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and the Bath Ambulance Corps.
