CAMPBELL - Anyone who has seen Sean Mourhess play basketball for Campbell-Savona knows he can jump, but did you know he can pole vault, too?
Mourhess, who swept the leaping events in Thursday's, April 19, Steuben County Athletic Association track meet, set a new Panthers record in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet in Campbell-Savona's sweep of Avoca and Bradford in a trimeet. Overall, Mourhess won the vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump.
The Campbell-Savona girls team also swept, led by Taylor Morse's three event wins. Like Mourhess, Morse took top honors in the pole vault, while also claiming the 3,200-meter and 800- meter runs. Sierra White won the 400-meter and 1,500-meter runs and the high jump for the Panthers, while Caitlin Parks won the triple jump and discus to lead Avoca.
Back on the boys' side, Bradford got wins in the 1,600-meter, 800-meter runs and 3,200-meter relay, while Avoca was led by Dave Dockstader's victories in the shot put and discus.
