Avoca teen accused of attacking teacher

      AVOCA - A 17-year-old Avoca Central School student was charged with felony assault after a disciplinary meeting at the school allegedly turned violent Wednesday morning, May 2. "One of our teachers was physically attacked," said Avoca Superintendent Chris Roser.

Bacalles to undergo heart surgery
      CORNING - Assemblyman Jim Bacalles (R, C, I - Corning) will undergo heart bypass surgery Monday in Arnot-Ogden Medical Center. He is resting comfortably in the Elmira facility after being admitted last week for tests following complications from hip surgery last fall and again, April 15th.

Keuka Maid docked for time being
