Campbell-Savona athletes honored

The Campbell-Savona Boys and girls track field teams have qualified for the the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar/Athlete Award.

It is the 13th time the girls team has qualified for this honor in 14 years, while the boys team had a school record 21 members qualify.

Hillary Anderson led the girls team with a 95.6 average, followed by Jill Turner (94.9).

Joining the trio are seniors Caitlin Downing and Michelle Lederman; juniors Erica Farrand, Car la Lederman, Taylor Morse and Mary Vimislik; sophomores Katrina Gleason, Elizabeth Kuehner, Nicole Neally, Alyssa Rook, Megan Rydelek and Becky Turner; freshmen Jen Tims and Sierra White.

"We set this as one of our team goals every year. Everybody worked hard and contributed. It's a group that the community should be really proud of," said girls coach Kevin Rosko.

The boys were led by Jared Allen (97.00) and Ray Holmes (97.63). Alsoi earning the honor was Nate Baird, Charles Brimmer, David Bronson, Anthony Cotter, Derrik Chrisler, Dan Gauss, Nate King, Austin Landis, Sean Mourhess, Ryan Newman, Alex Northrup, Josh Poplaski, Kelly Reed, Brett Rosko, Jason Smith, Tanner Swedeen, Drew Teter, Ryan Thompson and Chris Uncapher.
