+ The Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association is sponsoring again this year a Tree Fund Drive to plant trees along side Route 54 to enhance the appearance of the cemetery. The project will plant about 30 trees at an estimated $10,000. Tree height, type, locations and maintenance will all be done by the P.V.Cemetery Association. One may donate to this fund in memory of a loved one, so please do. + St. Gabriel's Catholic Church: 78 Shethar St. Summer Sunday Masses have started for the season at 8 a.m. and will continue through Labor Day. Every Sunday throughout the year has an 11 a.m. Mass. Many, many birthday cards were sent to a young boy named Shane who has cancer and was asked by the Make A Wish Foundation what he would like for his 8th birthday, May 30. His answer was "A million birthday cards." To Schuylerville NY from Hammondsport and the area went a lot of cards from St. Gabriel's Church to help make his wish come true.
