Richard L. "Dick" Moore
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma M. (Edwards) Moore, also of Hammondsport, his daughter, Sharon Moore of Corning, his son, David R. (wife- Debbie) Moore of Hammondsport, three granddaughters, Christine Williams of Horseheads, Melanie Tostanoski of Arizona, Cassandra (husband-Bill) Ribble of Horseheads and a great grandson, Dylan Tommy also of Horseheads. Dick served his country in the US Army in World War II and is a lifetime member of the VFW Post #524 in Corning. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #407 in Hammondsport. A dedicated employee of 32 years, Dick retired from Corning Incorporated in 1981. During the summer you would always find him enjoying his favorite place - Keuka Lake. Whether he was boating, fishing, playing horseshoes or a game of "SKAT" with family, Dick enjoyed every minute of his time at the lake. Another of his favorite hobbies was playing and watching golf with his close and dear friend, Bert Park. In his younger years, Dick was an avid bowler participating on many bowling teams in the Corning area. For many years, while a resident of South Corning, he volunteered with the South Corning Fire Department. He also enjoyed planning, organizing and helping to prepare pancake breakfasts for the residents of the Dogwood Mobile Home Park in Bushnell, Florida. Donations may be made, in his memory, to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Care or any other charity of choice. A Memorial Service and burial will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. |
