Alisa Bliss and James Laska

Alisa Bliss and James Laska of Georgetown, South Carolina were married January 14, 2007, at Duncan United Methodist Church, Georgetown, South Carolina, Rev. Phil Thrailkil officiating. A double ring ceremony was held, including music from soloists Kelly Eberlin of Painted Post and Jeremy Tuel of New Market, Maryland.

Alisa is the daughter of Susan and Stephen Bliss of Savona. She is a 1997 graduate of Campbell-Savona Central School, a 2001 graduate of Eastern University with a BA in Youth Ministry and English and a 2004 graduate of Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theological Studies.

James is the son of Mary and Tom Laska of Ridgeville, South Carolina. He is a 2001 graduate of St. Francis Borgia High School, a 2003 graduate of IHM Health Studies Center with an Associates degree in paramedic technology and also attended East Central College.

Alisa was given in marriage by her parents Susan and Stephen Bliss of Savona. She wore a white satin strapless gown with floral beaded embroidery and bodice chapel train. She had a fingertip veil with satin ribbon trim with a bouquet of red roses.

Matron of honor a was friend of bride, Sara Tuel from New Market, Maryland. The bridesmaids were: sister of bride, Sherry Moison of Corning; sister of groom, Deb Laska of Charleston, South Carolina; friend of bride, Amanda Vanaman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; friend of bride, Jennifer Haddox of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; friend of bride, Alison Blanshine of Litiz, Pennsylvania; friend of bride, Laura Cozzens of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Flower girl was WillaMcGowan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All bride's attendants wore strapless red satin gowns with a silver sash and carried bouquets of white roses. Honor attendants were friends of bride, Jenna McGowan from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Laura Jacobs from Georgetown, South Carolina.

Best man was brother of the groom, Bob Laska from Chicago, Illinois. The ushers were friends of groom, Jeff Curtis and Jim McMillan from St. Louis, Missouri; Richard Middleton from Charleston, South Carolina; friends of bride, Raymond Garcia of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Jonathan Hobbs of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Scott Goehringer of Baltimore, Maryland. Rig bearer was cousin of bride, Ian Loomis of Painted Post.

A Reception was held following the ceremony at the Duncan Church Family Center in Georgetown, South Carolina; and on May 5, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Painted Post. Alisa and James celebrated their honeymoon at Sapphire Valley, the mountains of North Carolina.
