The Center for Dispute Settlement is offering a free service to Steuben County residents to help with communication skills. The service is for residents under the age of 21. Services are confidential and a neutral person is available to help individuals.

The Hammondsport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0407 will meet at 2 p.m. of the first Sunday every month at the Hammondsport American Legion, Rt. 54.

Village of Bath Housing Authority Board

The Village of Bath Housing Authority Board will meet at 4 p.m. the forth Monday of every month (except where a Holiday occurs, then it will be held the week before.)

Dormann Library Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of the Dormann Library will hold their next monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Empire Room of the Library Building, 101 W. Morris St., Bath.

Victims of Domestic Violence Women's Support Group

Senior trips

A Bath Village/Town senior trip will be held on August 8 to a luncheon cruise on Skaneatelas Lake and Thoroughly Modern Mille at the Merry Go Round Theater, Auburn. Sign ups will be held Monday, June 25 at 1 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village of Bath Municipal Building, 110 Liberty St., Bath.

Wine Country Toastmasters

Wine Country Toastmasters will beet the first and third Tuesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. at the County Health Care Facility, Co. Rte. 113, Bath. The meeting will discuss enhancing communication and leadership skills.

"To Have and to Hold"

"To Have and to Hold," an exhibit of classic wedding gowns of yesteryear, presented by Lorraine Loomis- Konig, will be on display until June 17 at The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, 8419 St. Rt. 54, Hammondsport. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 65 and older and $4 for students 7-18. Children under six are free. Group rates are 10 or more are available.

The museum is open from 9-5, Monday-Saturday, and 10-5 on Sunday

Wildflowers of the Finger Lakes

Anne Keddy and Dr. Randy Weidner will present Wildflowers of the Finger Lakes at 10:30 a.m. July 14 at Mossy Bank Nature Center.

Bath VA Walking Tours

To demonstrate the pride of the Bath VA, the Bath VA Dietetic Staff will conduct walking tours of the grounds every Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. until Sept. 29, 2007.

Veterans, employees, and their families as well as the general public are welcome to join the tours and there is not cost to participate.

Cohocton Bible School

The Cochocton Assembly of God will hold a vacation bible school, Avalanche Ranch, a wild ride through God's word, from 6-8 p.m. June 25 and 29 at 31 N. Dansville St. (Rt. 415,) Cohocton. The event is for children from four years of age through 6th grade. Bible stories and verses, songs, dance, games and snacks will be available.

Bath commencement ceremony

The commencement ceremony for the Haverling High School Class of 2007 will be held at 11 a.m. June 23 in the High School gymnasium.

Graduates will receive eight to ten tickets for admission to the ceremony. Guests without a ticket may watch the ceremony via a live feed in the auditorium.

P-burgh School Alumni Banquet

The annual Prattsburgh School Alumni Banquet will be held on June 23, at the school cafetorium at a cost of $16. Doors open at 5 p.m. for school tours. Haverling Alumni Banquet

The Annual Haverling Alumni Banquet will be held on June 22 at the VFW, Rte. 54, Bath. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., $17 per person. Speaker of the evening will be Luther Hoffman, former Haverling band director.

Book buddy

Teenagers between the ages of 7-12 can consider being a book buddy this summer at the Dormann Library.

Book buddy volunteers will assist with the summer reading club, summer programs, informal read aloud sessions, book displays, shelving books, shelf reading, etc. Each book buddy will work a minimum of 3 weeks, 2-3 hours per day, 1- 2 days a week. We will work around a volunteer's schedule.

The summer program "Get a Clue @ Your Library" will run from June 26- August 17. Recruitment, interviews and the selection process will take place May 30-June 12. Training night will be Tuesday, June 19 at 5 p.m. with pizza and soda.

Stop by the Dormann Library and pick up a book buddy application or pick one up at the Haverling High School Library.

NYS Safe Boating Course

Steuben County Sheriff's Department, along with the Finger Lakes Boarting Museum is offering the NYS Safe Boating Course. All courses are scheduled for 6-9 p.m. and will be held at the Hammondsport Fire Department, St. Route 54, Hammondsport. The next course will be held on June 19 and 21. Attendance for both classes is mandatory. There is no fee for the courses and you will need ID at the first class.

Those who successfully complete the course will be issued a NYS Safe Boating Certificate.

The course Anyone interested in taking the course can contact the Steuben County Sheriff's Office at 1- 800-724-7777 to pre register for the course. Class size will be limited.

H-port Fire Department Raffle

The Hammondsport Fire Department will hold a raffle June 30. 1st place prize is a firefighter quilt, 2nd place prize is $100 and 3rd place prize is $50. Attendence at the drawing is not necessary. Donation is $1 per ticket.

Kiwanis Annual Fishing Derby

The Kiwanis Annual Fishing Derby will be held from 12-4 p.m. June 24 at Babcock Hollow Campground, Bath.

Lunch will be provided for the day. Children must be accompanied by adult. All ages up to 15 are eligible for prizes. Also held will be a casting contest.

Annual COPE Picnic 2007

"Building Capacity for Action," Rochester Labor Council, AFL-CIO will hold their Annual COPE Picnic from 5-7 p.m. July 12 at Genesee Roundhouse, Genesee Valley Park.

Special guest is Colleen Gardner, Executive Assistant for Labor Affairs, NYS Department of Labor; and, former New York State AFL-CIO Organizing and Community Services Director.

Hammondsport Central School will hold a Special Meeting at 6 p.m. and their Regular Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. June 20 in the Hammondsport school library, Main Street school.

Jeff Johnson Memorial golf tournament

The 1st Annual Jeff Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held June 30 with "T"-off held at 8 a.m. at the Watkins Glen Golf Course. The cost is $240 per team with includes captain and four man crew. The first 18 pre-paid teams will play. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive prizes. A skin game will also be held.

Community Vacation Bible School

Seven churches in the Hammondsport area will hold a Community Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 25-29 at the Hammondsport United Methodist Church. The bible school is called Take the Pludge, t is a water park theme where the kids will "Make a Splash with jesus."

Finishing Touch Soccer Camp

Finishing Touch Soccer Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 25-29 in Bath. The camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 6-18. The cost is $80 per child.
