Quota Club awards Shaver scholarship to Laurie Shifflet

BATH - Quota International of Bath awarded the $1,000 Laurie Anne Shaver Shifflett Scholarship to Jennifer Yarrison, daughter of Kristina Yarrison, an award given to a graduating student planning to continue education in the field of human services. Jennifer is a graduate of Haverling High School.

Officers of Quota for 2007 - 2008 were installed recently by district Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Anderson. The re-elected officers are: Shirley Smith, President; Sheila Martin, Vice President; Pam Schoonmaker, Secretary, and Donna Gerych, Treasurer. The Board of Directors are Kathryn Deuel, Susan Narby and Marlea Sherwood.

The "Quotarian of the Year" Award was given to Helen Binkowski for "unstoppable enthusiasm and professionalism for promoting club activities." Teresa Conover received the "Volunteer of the Year" award for her efficiency and continued support for Quota Club in preparing monthly meetings. Both awards were presented by Shirley Smith, President.

Quota continues to maintain and monitor incoming donations to The Clothing Shed, located in the parking lot behind St. Mary's Church. All donations are appreciated and distributed to underprivileged families through St. Pauly's Distribution Center of Farmington, NY.

Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children.
