Walter B. Swarthout

Walter B. Swarthout, 92, of Taylor Health Center, formerly of Wayne passed away Friday, June 29, at the health center.

He was born Sept. 16,

1914 in Penn Yan. The son of Minor and Lula Mothersell Swarthout.

Walter was employed by Lane Pipe Corporation in Bath for many years. He was a fifty plus year member of the Wayne Fire Department and a member of the Wayne Baptist Church and the Lamoka Masonic Lodge #463 in Tyrone.

Surviving are his wife Eleanor Plaisted Warthout, daughters Donna (Bennett) Joseph of Bath and Kay (Henry B.) Thomos of Jacksonville, Florida. Grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Thomas and Henry B. Thomas Jr.

Friends may call Monday, July 2, from noon until 2 p.m. at the LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport, where a Masonic service will take place Monday at 2 p.m. Followed by a fireman service, the funeral will be held directly after te masonic and fireman service Rev. Judy Peppard will officiate and Interment will be held in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport.
