Harold C. "Red" Thompson

Harold C. "Red" Thompson, died Saturday, June 23, at age 82, Tyrone, formerly of North Chili, peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Predeceased by parents Claude and Mildred Thompson and brothers Edward, Sandy and Jerry.

He was born in Rochester, the son of Claude and Mildred (Mitchell) Thompson.

He was a Flexographic Printer, employed by Mink Co, Rochester.

He is survived by Trula, his wife of 58 years; children, David (Cathy) Thompson and Deborah (Gary) Elliott; grandchildren, Nathan (Melanie) Elliott, Julie (Kris) Garling, Jaclyn Elliott, Patricia Thompson (Mikey Sampson, fiancé) and Michael Thompson; great grandchildren, Gracie Elliott, Ryan Garling, Page Elliott and Jamison Elliott; siblings, Spanky (Vera) Thompson, Norbert (Bernice)

Thompson, Sidney (Glenda) Thompson, Eugene Thompson, Eugene Thompson, Mildred (Richard) Bailey, Jack (Sue) Thompson, Carl (Irene) Thompson and Claudette (Carlton) Voak, sisters-inlaw, Barbara Ames and Patricia (Jack) Burkholder and many nieces and nephews.

He was an avid sportsman who was proud of his naval service as a Gunnersmate on PT 124 during WWII. His patriotism also included an honorary life membership in the Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954, Churchville, NY. During his 48 years of membership, he served as Post Commander and as a Vice Commander of Monroe County.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon Saturday, July 7 at Wayne Village Baptist Church, Route 230, Wayne. Private burial service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
