Kathleen Mary O'Brian CAMPBELL - Kathleen Mary O'Brian, age 63, of 4834 Horton Lane, Campbell died Saturday, June 30, at her home in Campbell surrounded by her loving family after having fought a courageous five year battle with breast cancer. Kathleen was born in Addison, NY on Dec. 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Cook) Kelly. She was married to Carlton "Bud" Coates of Addison from 1963 to his passing in 1965. From 1966 to 1977, she was married to Richard "Dick" O'Brian of Corning. She is now survived by long-time companion Arthur Simpson of Campbell. A graduate of Addison High School, Kathleen was an account clerk for many years with the Corning Credit Union. She enjoyed traveling to the south when not working, and looked forward to spending time with her family and friends when at home. Kathleen enjoyed being out in the sun, and gardening in her beautiful flower garden. She is survived by one daughter: Marnie O'Brian of Germantown, Maryland; one son: Mark (fiancé Joan Hyde) Coates of Addison; two sisters: Maureen (James) Flynn of Bath, Gwen (Robert) Dart of Locust, North Carolina; one brother: Ed (Jackie) Kelly of Summerfield, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received Thursday, July 5, from 1-3 p.m. at the Phillips Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 17 West Pulteney St. in Corning, where services followed at 3 p.m. with Reverend Dan Slattery of Southern Tier Hospice officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to Southern Tier Hospice & Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning NY, 14830 or to the Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Ave, Elmira NY, 14905. |
