Lydia J. Dickson KANONA - Lydia J. Dickson, 86, life long resident of Campbell Creek Road in Kanona passed away Saturday, July 7, at the Elcor Health Services in Horseheads. She was born in Bath, August 8, 1920 the daughter of Henry Lee and Bessie Wright Ackerson. She was a member of the Kanona Methodist Church. Lydia was a very hard working Farmer and took care of Horses, flocks of sheep, cattle and pets on the family farm. She became a loving friend to many people and spent a lot of time caring for those in need, including her own family members. A special thank you to the Dyer family for their helpful caring ways towards Lydia. She is survived by her sister, Hazel Amon of Alton, grandson Richard (Julie) Dickson; two granddaughters, Carol (Frank) Johnson and Donna Dickson all of Horseheads; three great grandchildren, Kali, Blake and Rachel and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband AJ in 1990, and son Robert Dickson in 1974, and four brothers, John, Guy, Lawrence and Luther Ackerson. Friends called on Thursday, July 12, at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Ed Spencer officiating. Burial was held in Nondaga Cemetery in Bath. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Lydia's name may be made to a charity of one's choice. |
