Pulteney library to offer cartoon, watercolor workshops

PULTENEY - The Pulteney Free Library will sponsor a cartoon art workshop entitled "How to Think/Draw likea Cartoonist" with artist Tom Fox at 1 p.m. July 28.

Participants will learn how to approach their artwork with a smile, resulting in some great cartoons. The workshop is intended as a family program, for all ages and at all skill levels.

Tom Fox has been teaching art for more than 20 years in enrichment and community education programs. He is the editorial cartoonist at The Livingston County News.

The library will host another art program - "Exploring Water Color Painting" - at 7 p.m. July 27. This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in watercolors. Supplies are provided, but participants may also bring their own in addition to a photograph or object to paint.

These events are made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program administered locally by The ARTS of the Southern Finger Lakes.

For more information, call The Pulteney Free Library at 868-3473. Tuesday noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday noon to 6p.m., Thursday noon to 8p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to p.m.
