Campbell opens Series with victory
Campbell answered immediately, as Tara Hughes and Kelsey Knowles drew back-to-back walks to start bottom of the first. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, and Hughes was driven in on Kacey Wood's ground back to Leonard on the mound.

      MT. VERNON - Corning's Albert Johnson out-jumped the competition by .08 meters on his way to capturing a gold medal in the scholastic long jump at the Empire State Games. Johnson, a member of the Western team, won with a jump of 6.95 meters.

      BATH - Mike Rossi tossed a three-hitter and struck out 12 as Bath downed Wayland 10-3 to advance to the District Legion Ball tournament. Simons defeats Wright in Bath Billards Club tournament
      BATH - Tod Simons (Bath) defeated Dick Wright (Corning) 5 games to 3 in the finals of the Bath Billards Club (Non-Member) nine ball tournament to take home championship honors. Shane Smith (Corning) took third place in the 17 man field.
