Peter Kopilchak

PRATTSBURGH - Peter Kopilchak, Sr., 81, of Prattsburgh passed away Saturday, July 21, at the Bath VA.

Family and friends called on Tuesday, July 24 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh. Peter's funeral service was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 25 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald Peek officiating. Burial was held at Bath National Cemetery.

Peter was born on November 15, 1925 in Trafford, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Alexander and Mary Poliniak Kopilchak. He served in the Navy from 1943-46 and the Army from 1947-50. Peter was a self employed mason, was very independent and loved wood working. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his very loving and devoted wife, Margaret; children, Stephen (Diane) Kopilchak of Frostproof, Florida, Mary (John) Bardo of Watkins Glen, Peter (Patricia) Kopilchak, Jr. of Hammondsport; grandchildren, Stephen, Jr., Michael and Carrie Kopilchak, Cheryl, Laura and Douglas Presler, Jay and Crystal Bassett; step grandchildren, Toni, Becky, Michael and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Casey, Kyle, Eric, Christopher, Ryan, Savannah, and Lindsley; step great-grandchildren, Kody, Kelsey, Madison, Ayden, Cory, Vincent and Michael; brothers, Alex (Maryanne) Kopilchak of Danville, Pennsylvania and Theodore (Ruth) Kopilchak of Pennsylvania; sister, Mary Hospodar of Alberqueque, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Zeta Kopilchak of Pennsylvania; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his brothers

John, Paul and Joe.
