Gerald C. Mann

BATH/COHOCTON - Gerald C. Mann, 67 years of age, of Hickory Hill Rd., Bath, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 24, at the Bath Veterans Administration Healthcare Facility.

Gerald was born March 4, 1940 in Cohocton, the son of Clark and Beulah (Samelson) Mann. He grew up in Cohocton and graduated from Cohocton Central School. He lived in Atlanta for a period of time and has resided in Bath for the past 30 years. Subsequent to high school, Gerald served his country in the United States Army from Jan. 16, 1961 until his honorable discharge on Jan. 15, 1964. Gerald's employment career included over 30 years at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville having retired from there in 1995. Gerald was a member of the Bath American Legion and the Bath VFW. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting all sorts of antiques and different collectibles including coins, stamps, old bottles and insulators. Gerald enjoyed playing horseshoes and he was interested in the Cohocton Historical Society.

Gerald was pre-deceased by a daughter, Valerie Hoffman in 1993; a brother, Russell Mann; and his parents, Clark and Beulah Mann. He is survived by his children, Sue (Ken) Burley of Atlanta, John (Tracy) Mann of Texas, Tim (Jackie) Mann of Cohocton, and Jaime (Jeff) Creeley of Hornell; his grandchildren, Christopher Hoffman, Justin (Michael) Hoffman, Heather (Tim) Ball, Alicia Burley, Michael Mann, Timmy, Shaun, and Holly Mann, Dakota, Dylan, Devin, and Donovan Lowery; brothers, Gordon and Arthur Mann; very close cousin, Janet Riker; along with several nieces and nephews.

Gerald's family and friends called from 1-3 p.m. Friday, July 27 at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, Wayland. Gerald's funeral services was held at 3 p.m. Friday at the conclusion of calling hours at the funeral home. Reverend David Hotchkiss officiated. Interment and committal prayers along with military honors was held immediately following at Mapleview Cemetery in Cohocton. Contributions in Gerald C. Mann's memory may be made to the Bath American Legion, E. William St., Bath, NY 14810.
