Andrew "Andy" C. Wheeler

AVOCA - Andrew 'Andy' C. Wheeler, 81, of Avoca died Saturday, July 28 at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath. He was born June 12, 1926 in Potter, the son of Leonard and Minnie Abel Wheeler. He retired from Albert Ross Refrigeration in Denver, Colorado. Andy was a Past Jr. Vice Commander and member of the American Legion in Geneva. He was an Army and Merchant Marine Veteran .

He is survived by two daughters, Marji McDonald of Vienna, Virginia and Yvonne Wheeler of Richmond, Illinois, one son, Paul Wheeler of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren, Jesse Wheeler, Brooke Wheeler and Tyson McDonald; two sisters, Hazel Swinehart of Penn Yan and Susann Wheeler of Penn Yan, five brothers: Harold (Janice) Wheeler of Bath, Donald Wheeler of Phillips, Arden'Ike' (Jane) Wheeler of Barrington, Ray (Dorothy) Wheeler of Penn Yan and Leonard "Junior" (Irma) Wheeler of Avon. He was predeceased by his brothers; Louie, Charlie, Willis and Ori "Pete" Wheeler and sisters, Erma Eaves, Laura Wheeler and Margery Wheeler.

Friends called Tuesday, July 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.

Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, at the VA Union Chapel in Bath with Reverend Gerald Hamblin officiating. Burial was held with full military honors at the Bath National Cemetery.
