Dollar stores 'yes.' Wal-Mart 'no.' Why?
To the Editor:

I am writing concerning Wal-Mart coming to Bath. Going above Lakeview Apts., it would be so easy to go shopping.

I was born and brought up in Bath. I can remember that if anything wanted to come to Bath, they voted it down. I am 84 years old, and I don't drive, so I can't get to Painted Post or Hornell to their Wal- Mart.

Another concern is business downtown. There is nothing to shop down there. Mr. Ward would still have his business as people who have gone to shop will continue going there.

How come they voted all the dollar stores could come into Bath, but Wal- Mart could not? How come?

Us people at Lakeview want it bad, as it would be easy to go shopping.
