If you don't like Wal-Mart, you don't have to go there to shop
To the Editor:

I'm writing in regard to the Wal-Mart debate.

I'm 100% for Wal-Mart coming in. It would be great for us.

I was under the impression this is the U.S.A. We should be able to have a Wal-Mart here. If someone opposes this, they do not have to go there.

I go to Erwin since my husband has drs. appointments, hospitals and other such things. If Wal-Mart is forced out of this area, I would probably just choose to go there.

A nearby community objected to the Wal- Mart, now when one goes there, there is always a full parking lot. I wonder if these so-called protesters are frequently shopping there. Probably so.

More oft than not, when I go to other stores in the areas, I am lucky if I find what I want. Then if I do, it is more expensive than I would pay at Wal-Mart.

It is time for a change. Why are there four dollar stores and such? But, you don't want Wal-Mart.

Another thing is the parking at Wal-Mart. You are able to park without a fee and not worry whether you are going to get a ticket.

Wal-Mart just might be as asset to our community. If Wal-Mart is not allowed to go in, just maybe I just might do all my shopping at other areas where Wal-Mart was allowed.

Think about the taxes that might be coming to the area with Wal-Mart.

Then finally perhaps some welfare recipients will be able to get a job if they choose. Also, Wal- Mart does make jobs available for the handicapped.

All in all, I feel it is a good thing!
