Desrosiers receives Scouting's highest award

Kevin P. Desrosiers, of Haverling St., Bath, son of Rebecca Trzeciak and James Desrosiers, received Scouting's highest award; the rank of Eagle Scout on July 25 at the Hickory Hill Campground.

Kevin's Eagle project consisted of a number of "upgrade projects" at the Bath's Humane Animal Shelter. With the help of fellow scouts, community organizations and the generosity of the community members, Kevin was able to paint a portion of the animal shelter, build and erected a flag pole monument with a flower display, and construct an additional "can and bottle drop off bin." The cans and bottles that the shelter receives make up a substantial protion of the shelter's income each year. This recycling money provides funding for food, bedding

and other shelter needs.

Keven has been an active member of Troop 59 for many years. Sponsored by St. Mary's of Bath, Troop 59 is currently under the leadership of Scoutmaster Todd Martin.

Kevin will be a senior at Haverling High School this fall; his honors now include: Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, Boys State, Captain of his lacrosse team and an honors student. He plans to attend college after high school.
