BATH - Reading, outdoor games and creating art projects were some of the activities that children in Bath did in a summer school session sponsored by the Haverling school district.
The district offered a five-week summer school program from July 9-August 10 for students entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
Students could choose to attend one, two or three one-hour blocks of instruction in the areas of English/Language Arts (ELA), math, science, art and fitness. Math and ELA lessons were offered at enrichment, maintenance and remedial levels. A kindergarten readiness program also was offered to students who will begin school this fall.
"I can't say enough good things about the academics offered," said Summer School Principal Vicky Odell, an administrative intern working in the district this summer. "This was a phenomenal opportunity for students to be engaged during the summer."

Many students also participated in the summer swim program and the school's library was open one day a week as well.
