Earl Paul Sharp
Earl was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Nov. 6, 1928, the son of the late Ralph and Ruth Sharp. Earl and Mary Stickney Sharp were married for 59 years on May 28. Earl worked at the Bath VA as a crew Chief for 23 plus years. He retired in 1986. He was a past Fire Chief of the Prattsburg Protective, Executive Director of Northern Central Volunteer Fireman's Association, member of Steuben Fireman's Association. He was a founder of the Prattsburg Ambulance Corp. and member of the Bath American Legion. He served in the Army Military Police Corps. Earl loved life, his family, camping and traveling. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Earl was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Violet; and his son, Earl. He is survived by his wife Mary; daughters, Dixie Wilson and Paula Putman; his grandchildren, Jason Putman, Shane (Elizabeth) Putman, Rhiannon (Terry) Zimmerman, Alecia (Kevin) Putman, Kyla Wilson and Eric Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Kloe, Annabelle, Brooke, Tanner, Jonathan, Kayley and Kelsie. Calling hours were observed Wednesday, August 15, from 1-3 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath where his Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 16 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Jim Newman officiating. Earl's burial was held in Prattsburg Rural Cemetery, Prattsburg with Full Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made in Earl's memory to the Parkinson Foundation or the Cancer Research Center. |
