Iva Lou E. Trant

BATH - Iva Lou E. Trant, of 7283 County Route 13, Bath, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 16, 2007.

She was born on February 26, 1927 in West Union, New York, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Church) Edwards. She graduated from State Teacher's College, Cortland and completed her Masters at SUNY Geneseo. After graduation from college, she started her teaching career at Avoca Central School then she was a teacher for 20 years at Vernon E. Wightman and Dana Lyon Schools. She married Eugene J. Trant on December 22, 1951 in St. Stanislaus Church, Bradford. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath and she was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.

She was predeceased by her husband Eugene J. Trant in 1980, four sisters: Luella VanSkiver, Evelyn Hann, Velma Rhude, Joyce Ann Edwards, three brothers: Konald Edwards, Charles Edwards and Herbert Edwards.

She is survived by four daughters; Lugene (Stephen) Miller of St. Louis, Mo., Karleen Schwartz of Campbell, N.Y., Jenelle (Iain) Abbott fo Cincinnati, Ohio, Janeen (Scott) Lyle of Cincinnati, Ohio, one son: Edward (Mary) Trant of Webster, N.Y., one sister: Wilma Skinner of Olean, N.Y., two brothers: Nathan (Ila) Edwards of Rexville, N.Y. Carroll Edwards of Bath, N.Y. eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends called on August 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris Street, Bath. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22 at the Centenary United Methodist Church, Bath, N.Y. with Rev. Jeffrey McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Iva Lou's name may be made to Southern Tier Hospice or The Centenary United Methodist Church of Bath.
