Steuben Health Ministries awarded $8,400 grant

The Community Foundation of the Elmira-Corning Area, Inc. has awarded Health Ministry of the Southern Tier a grant of $8,400 to provide "Medical and Dental Health Services to the Uninsured. Randi Hewit, the Vice President of Grants and Initiatives, presented the check to HMST Finance and Development Chair George Gifford.

Health Ministry of the Southern Tier utilizes the volunteer services of area medical professionals (physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, LPNs, dental hygienists and assistants) to provide free medical and dental care and limited prescription drug assistance to people without insurance or means of payment. The Health Ministry of the Southern Tier and its affiliates provide medical services in Bath, Corning, Elmira and Watkins Glen and dental services in Corning. HMST is a United Way partner agency that celebrates is 10th anniversary in 2007.
