Virginia Aulls Decker

BATH - Virginia Aulls Decker, 88, formerly of Bath, Hammondsport, Hornell, Campbell and Mumford New York, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. at Leroy Village Green Residential Health Care Facility in Leroy.

She was born April 20, 1919 in Campbell, the daughter of the late Frank Rowlett Aulls and Marguerite Cox Aulls.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Anne Aulls Jones of Hornell; a brother, Frank William Aulls of Fort Myers, Florida; and husbands, Lawrence Decker Lawrence Wraight and Kenneth Edgar Booke.

She is survived by a son, Frank Kenneth Booke of Caledonia; a granddaughter, Marguerite Anne Brooke of Caledonia; a niece, Virginia Jones Vail of Watertown, Connecticut; nephews, John Griswold Aulls of Frederick, Maryland, and Frank William Aulls, Jr. of Cape Coral, Florida; grandnephews and grandnieces, Heather Woodring of Acton, Massachusetts, Amy Dyer of Waterbury, Connecticut, Rusty Dyer of Northfield, Connecticut, Mary F. Aulls, Tracy A. Speelman, John S. Aulls and Suzanne A. Hadley all of Frederick, Maryland, Justin B. Aulls of Cape Coral, Florida; and a cousin, William Horton Cox, Jr. of Rochester.

Virginia was a graduate of Campbell Central School, Class of 1939, and Daines Business School. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Savona and Hammondsport Chapters, and a member of Campbell Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and took part in many church-related activities. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Hornell where she was involved in church activities. She also attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bath and Savona Federated Church. She was founder of the Aulls Family Reunion Association. Her civic activities included enemy aircraft spotter during World War II, canvas taker, and Election Day worker. He interests included antiques, gardening, family history, travel, and music. She was employed at Corning Glass Works, and Tracy and Jones and Steuben Trust Company, both in Hornell.

Calling hours will be held at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2-4 p.m. with her Funeral Service immediately following at 4 p.m. with the Reverend Douglas Madden officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport, near the final resting place of her ancestor, William Aulls, the first settler of Pleasant Valley.
