George Michael Drozda
He was born Feb. 27, 1921 in Corning, the son of the late Michael J. and Mary Demyan Drozda. He was a graduate of Corning Free Academy and was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Force during World War II. George and Elizabeth L. (Betty) Teets were married. She predeceased him November 9, 1993. He was employed as a foreman for Philips Lighting in Bath with 17 years service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corning, a life member of Bath VFW Post #1470 and the American Legion Post #0746 of Corning. Surviving are dear friend and companion; Sandra Kline. Son; Patrick Drozda of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two sisters; Mary Telehany of El Paso, Texas and Ann (Donald) Kuntz of Liverpool. Also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers; John Drozda and Michael Drozda and sister Dolores Cowherd. Arrangements are with the Haughey Funeral Home 216 E. First St., Corning. A Committal Service with Full Military Rites was held at the family plot Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. Coopers Plains Cemetery, Coopers Plains. Rev. James Ellis Officiated. The family would appreciate Memorial Donations be given in George's name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. |
