Edward Santacroce

KANONA - Edward Santacroce, age 89, of Kanona, died Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Buffalo VA, Buffalo. He was born in Kanona July 12, 1918 the son of Arcadea and Maude Piatt Santacroce. Ed was a Truck Driver and had worked on the railroad and logging industry. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Charles E. Wescott Post 173 American Legion in Bath. Ed's greatest joy was his family, hunting, fishing and trapping.

He is survived by three sons, Sheldon (Elizabeth) Santacroce of Avoca, Edward F. Santacroce of Kanona and Richard Santacroce of Hammondsport, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Thompson, Anna Hazard and Sharon Blankenship, and his brother-in--law Sam House. His wife Grace in 2001, brother Joseph Santacroce and sister Margaret predeceased him.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Bath VA Union Chapel with Reverend John Wydeven officiating. Burial was held in the Bath National Cemetery. The family invited friends to the Kanona Fire Department for a luncheon following the services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kanona Fire Departmen t.
