Nine county women attend 2007 Empire Girls State workshop at SUNY Brockport

The 2007 session of the Empire Girls State Workshop was June 24 through June 30, 2007 at the Suny Brockport College. Nine young women from Steuben County were able to attend: Megan Chrysler, Megan Deats of Bath, Alexandra Hoffman, Emily Feenaughty of Hornell, Stephanie Williams, Ashley Hamilton of Corning, Geena Huber of Perkinsville, Anne M. Mahany of Arkport and Lindsey M. Drake of Savona.
Empire Girls State is a workshop on government, the political process and leadership.
Under the Americanism program, the American Legion Auxiliary attempts to educate 360 young women from all over New York state in the duties, rights and responsibilities of American Citizenship and to prepare them to be active participants and future leaders of society.
