Everyone showed true grit

To the Editor,

As a resident and taxpayer, may I offer a "High Five" to the undergraduate teams, coaches, marching band and directors, etc., who exercised restraint and patience, so that the varsity football field could have the time and nurturing it desperately needs for hearty growth.

By pulling together and placing aside personal desires so that the team could have its home games on something other than a muddy swale, everyone showed "true grit." With continued future spot-seeding of worn areas with tougher grassy mixtures, nutrients, and times irrigation periods, as well as refraining from field over-use, it should be A-OK for years to come.

From a Concerned Citizens Awareness Group facilitator (CCAG), who detests witnessing community assets "go to seed," a "bushel" of gratitude to each and every person who had a hand in this recent Renaissance of the Earth.
