Hugh W. Tombs

CAMPBELL - Hugh W. Tombs age 94, of Campbell, died Monday, Sept. 24, at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath.

Hugh was born in Osceola, Pennsylvania on Sept. 23, 1913, to John and Alice (Kaiser) Tombs. He married Alberta England on Oct. 13, 1967. Alberta preceded him in death in 1992. Hugh retired from Polly-O Dairy where heworked in the evaporation room for 25 years.

He is survived by three sons, Dale Tombs of Campbell, Daryl (Shannon ) Tombs of Savona, and James (Pauline) Tombs of Campbell; one sister, Emma Johnson, four grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Cameron, and Kaitlyn. Hugh was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Morehouse and Eleanor Hunter, and by three brothers Jerry, John, Walter.

Friends may call on Monday Oct. 1, from 1-3 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning where Funeral Services will be held following calling hours at 3 p.m. with Reverend Theodore Brennan officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post.
