DEC: New York moose numbers grow to 500

      Moose numbers are growing exponentially in New York, with roughly 500 moose in the northern part of the state, the state Department of Environmental Conservation projects this fall. That's up from the estimated 50-100 moose a decade earlier and a handful of sporadic sightings in the 1980s.
