POLICE

Assault

Bath village police last week arrested Lee Jones, 40, of Bath on a charge of second degree assault.

Jones allegedly cut another man with a sickle during a fight. He was arraigned in Bath village court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or a $2,000 property bond.

Marijuana

Village police charged Stephen Stromless, 17, of Bath with seconddegree criminal sale of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child.

Stromless allegedly sold a quantity of marijuana to two 15-year-old children while at a party. He is to appear in village court at a later date.

Burglary

State police is Bath and Painted Post arrested a Corning man for allegedly committing burglary in numerous Steuben County towns, including Cameron.

Kyle B. Dickerson, 26, of East 1st St., Corning, was charged with third degree burglary and remanded to the county jail on $50,000 bail or a $100,000 property bond.

Police say Dickerson targeted at least 19 Amish residences in southwest Steuben County. He also targeted Amish-owned businesses, allegedly stealing dry goods, a quilt and footwear.

Gas leak

Bath volunteer firefighters on Sept. 25 responded to a propane leak at Denwood Terrace Trailer Park in the west end of the Village of Bath. They discovered a 100-pound cylinder leaking gas from its bottom.

The incident prompted the evacuation of one-third of the park. Bath village police and ambulance corp personnel assisted with the operation.

The tanks was removed to a nearby field and emptied gas. No injuries were reported.
