Fall foliage festival set for Cohocton

COHOCTON - The 2007 Cohocton Fal l Foliage Festival, featuring the famous tree sitting contest, begins Thursday and runs through the weekend.

A schedule of events:

Thursday, Oct. 4

7 p.m. Prince & Princess Contest - Cohocton School

5 p.m. Open to children of the Wayland-Cohocton School District

7 p.m. ages Kdg., 5 & 6 years

Friday, Oct. 5

4 to 6:30 p.m. Spaghetti Dinner - Presbyterian Church corner of Maple and Church Street.

5 p.m. Tree sitting contest starts at school

7 p.m. Fall Foliage Soccer Tournament at Sports Complex

Saturday, Oct. 6

7 until: Breakfast/Bake Sale at Methodist Church corner of Maple & Wheeler Street.

7 to 10 a.m. Sons of American Legion Breakfast at Cohocton Legion

10 to 5 p.m. Arts, Crafts, Antique & Flea Market - On Village Greens

Beef-on-Wick by Cohocton Lions Club - On Village Greens

Salt potatoes by Zion Lutheran Church on Village Green

Petting Zoo at Festival Walkway by Big Parking Lot

10 until: Luncheon, Bakesale & Basement Sale- Methodist Church

11 to 4 p.m. Chicken Barbecue at Firehouse

12 until: Chicken Barbecue at School by Sons of the American Legion

12 to 5 p.m. Historical Exhibit in Business District

1 p.m. Parade

2:30 to 5 p.m. Entertainment - On Village Greens

7 p.m. Spud Jug Soccer Game at Sports Complex

9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dance at Cohocton American Legion

Sunday, Oct. 7

Local church services at regular times; visitors welcome

7:30 a.m. Ecumenical worship service at Sports Complex; all welcome

8 to noon: Pancake Feast at Firehall

10 to 5 p.m. Arts, crafts, antique and flea market on Village Greens

Many foods sponsored by Local organizations - on Village Greens

Zoo at festival walkway by Big Parking Lot

Historical exhibit in Business District

10 a.m. until: Antique tractor pull - in Sports Coplex parking lot

Noon until: Chicken BBQ at school by Sons of the American Legion

Noon to 3 p.m. Roast Pork Dinner at St. paul Lutheran church on Maple Ave.

12:30 to 5 p.m. entertainment on Village Greens

2:30 p.m. Candy run for kids at Sports Complex

5 p.m. Tree Sitting Contest Ends.

No dogs allowed on Village Green or Sports Complex
