Jeanne M. Chapin SAVONA - Jeanne M. Chapin age 49, of 12 McCoy St., Savona died Friday, Oct. 5, shortly after arrival at Ira Davenport hospital in Bath. Mrs. Chapin was born in Bath on June 20, 1958, the daughter of the Richard and Mary (Crowl) Van Zile. Her mother survives her. She married Frank J. Chapin at the Risingville Church on June 28, 1975. Jeanne attended school in Bradford and lived many years in Campbell before moving to Savona. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crafts and her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Frank J.Chapin; mother: Mary Crowl of Elmira; one daughter: AnnMarie Chapin of Savona; four sisters: Patricia Van Zile of Elmira, Sandra (Sam) Dailey of Monterey, Phyllis Van Zile of Elmira, Kathy Miller of Elmira, three brothers: Richard (Marie) Van Zile of Painted Post, Steven (Debra) Van Zile of Elmira, Thomas Van Zile of Horseheads, grandson, Christopher Chapin of Savona; grandson, Joseph Chapin of Savona; grandson, Benjamin Chapin of Savona, ; neices and nephews. Calling hours were held Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Phillips Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St. in Corning, a memorial service was held at the conclusion of calling hours with Pastor Al Craig of the First Assembly of God Church of Corning officiating.
