Patrick Muller appointed Bath highway chief
By ROB PRICE THE COURIER-ADVOCATE

BATH - Town officials recently approved the appointment of Bath resident Patrick Muller as highway superintendent for the municipality. Muller's appointment became effective Monday.

He replaces former highway Superintendent James McGlynn, who became highway superintendent in 1997 and retired in mid-summer of this year.

According to Bath Councilwoman Robin Lattimer, 14 individuals applied for the $48,000-peryear position, with seven applicants not meeting the town residency requirement. Muller lives on Knight Settlement Road.

Lattimer also noted town Supervisor Fred Muller and Councilman Dean Kropp recused themselves from the search process, as two qualifying applicants were relatives.

The newly hired Muller said Tuesday he is a cousin of the town supervisor.

Muller received an associate's degree from Alfred State College in the field of building construction. He worked as a foreman for the former R.C. Billings company. More recently, from 2000 until his appointment to the superintendent's position, he worked for Bath Electric Water and Gas Systems in underground line maintenance.

He oversees the largest department in the Town of Bath, with 15 employees including himself.
