Eaton should be commended To the Editor, I would like to commend Patricia Eaton for bringing up the subject of our village streets. About three or four months ago I wrote to Mr. Muller about the streets in my neighborhood. Those streets are Whiting, Lyons, Wood, Charles, Maine, Kingsley and Maple Heights. These streets, especially Maple Heights and Charles Street, are very bad. These streets are used a lot because of school and sports events. I've lived in this area for eight years and I don't recall any of these roads getting re-done. What disturbs me is that they re-paved Allen Street which was just re-done a couple years ago and didn't need any work done on it. They're talking about repaving Vermont which was also redone when Allen Street was. Now that the weather is changing I'm beginning to wonder if another year will go by without these roads getting done. The Haverling Street project seems to be taking a long time to get finished. Let's face it, about every street in the village needs to be re-done but some streets should be priority. Two of those streets should be Maple Heights and Charles because of the school and the fact that people have to drive on them every day as I do. I'll give Mr. Muller credit for the few roads that did get the work they needed but I do believe he could have accomplished more. Let's just keep in mind that there is taxpayers' money for these projects. Let's see how much longer we'll have to wait to see when it'll be used to get things done. Madeline Frawley Bath |
