The Blotter Welfare fraud Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged James E. Clemons, 41, and Valerie A. Clemons, 37, of 6794 state Route 415, Bath, with fourth degree welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing. The couple allegedly received more than $2,800 in public assistance and Food Stamp benefits they were not entitled to. They also allegedly failed to report a savings account and balance. Both were issued an appearance ticket for a later date in Bath village court. DWI State police last week charged Michael P. Bendlin, 25, of Bath with driving while intoxicated. he is to appear in Urbana town court at a later date. Marijuana State police charged Derek Brown, 21, of Bath with unlawful possession of marijuana during a traffic stop Oct. 13. he is to appear in Bath village court at a later date. DWI State police last week charged James A. Sanford, 26, of Hammondsport with driving while intoxicated. He is to appear in village court at a later date. DWI Joshua R. Fronk, 22, of Avoca was charged last week with driving while ability impaired in the Town of Geneseo. He is to appear in Geneseo town court at a later date. Petit larceny Bath village police last week charged Anna Mae Povoski, 69, of Bradford, with petit larceny in connection with an incident at the Bath K-Mart. Povoski is to appear in village court at a later date. |
