BOCES student booked on sex charge

HORNELL - A female student at the BOCES Wildwood Campus was jailed last week after allegedly subjecting other students to sexual contact, then threatening those she touched.

Natasha L. Smith, 18, of Bath, was charged with two counts of forcible touching, a misdemeanor, and a single count of second-degree harassment, a violation.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff 's Office, Smith forcibly grabbed other students at the school and then threatened those students to avoid repercussions.

Smith was arraigned in Hornellsville Town Court and sent to the Steuben County Jail unable to pay $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond.

Orders of protection were issued for the victims.

If convicted, Smith faces up to a year in jail on the misdemeanor charges. She will reappear in town court Oct. 31. The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.
