Albert D. Clarke

HAMMONDSPORT - Albert D. Clarke, 87, of the Waters of the Three Rivers, formerly of Hammondsport, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 6, 1919 in Toronto, Canada the son of Albert and Agnes Morrison Clarke. Albert was an Army Veteran of WWII, a retired teacher at Hammondsport Central School, a retired administrator with Steuben - Allegany BOCES, founding member of the Bostwick Club of Hammondsport, longtime chairman of the Hammondsport Planning Board, and a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife Ruth E. Clarke, sons David (Mary Ellen) Clarke of Painted Post, Richard (Annette) Clarke of Painted Post, and James (Elizabeth) Clarke of Caton, daughter Elizabeth (Edward) Galpin of Florida, brother Donald Clarke of Penn Yan, six grandchildren Paul Hicks, Sarah Billingsley, Allison White, Valerie Clarke, Matthew Clarke and Alexandra Clarke, he was predeceased by his sister Vera Oleanik.

Family and Friends were invited to a Memorial Service Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. at St . James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport, the Rev. Sandra Curtis officiated and Interment was held in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Curtiss Museum or the Hammondsport Public Library. Arrangements are with LaMarche Funeral Home, Hammondsport.
