BATH - The newly opened coffee bar and pastry shop at the Dormann Library now has an official name, with a postal worker at the Bath post office submitting the winning nomination out of a field of nearly 200 submissions.
Barbara Albert, a Birdsell resident who has worked at the Bath Post Office since 1997, proposed "Chapters" as the proper name of the cafe. The name impressed members of a cafe advisory committee composed of Dormann board members, community residents and members of the cafe's teenage advisory board.
"Chapters" was chosen from a field of proposals that included "Aesop's Tables," "Cafe Blast," "The Daily Perk," "Henry's Place" and "Rejuvenation Station."
Dormann Library Director Carol Berry presented Albert an honorary certificate last week at the cafe, as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted over stacks of the Dormann Library collection. Chapters serves a variety of coffees in addition to tea, smoothies and blended drinks. A variety of pastries are also available.
Cafe hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
