Curtiss Museum to host long-term care forum

BATH - The Steuben County Office for the Aging will host a forum on longterm health care at the Glenn Curtiss Museum from noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 8.

The seven-hour event will feature numerous experts on long-term health care, and is recommended for anyone between the age of 45 and 65.

"The long-term health care system is complex, and none of us really wants to talk about long-term care," the Office for the Aging said in a prepared release. "But now is the time and place to consider those issues."

The forum will present information necessary to make informed decisions and choices regarding the wide range of options available for long-term care, including information on long-term care insurance.

Speakers will include Patrick Roth, an attorney who will discuss the estate planning process. Also:

• Dr. Patricia Bomba, vice president and medical director of geriatrics for Excellus Health Plan. She will medical orders a patient may impose regarding life sustaining treatment and orders against resuscitation or intubation.

• Nan Hammes, director of Steuben County RSVP, who will discuss identity theft and scams.
